Dear Ladies,
May and spring! What a wonderful feeling! After this long, cold winter, it is great to
see nature awakening from a long sleep!
It was nice to see so many friends at our April luncheon. GareDeRobe brought to us
real spring atmosphere with the beautiful, colourful fashion show. Ingrid Petterson and
Gunilla Stolpe inspired us so much with such beautiful creations for the new summer
season. Thank you, Marion and Suellen for arranging such a wonderful fashion show,
and Luisa for the lovely atmosphere at the Läkaresällskapet.
May is also the last month of our Club year, but still quite a busy one! Do not forget
that we have many activities scheduled up until the end of May. Please take a look at
the social Activities pages, where you will see that Carol has not let us “relax” while
she is enjoying her vacations in Australia! You will fi nd many nice things to do before
the summer break.
One important highlight is a reception at the Indian Embassy on May 6. This will be
the last philanthropic project for this year. We can say that it will “close our club year
with a golden key”. Mrs Vasundra Shetty, the wife of the Indian Ambassador would
like to host an event for the Club before leaving Stockholm.
What a great opportunity for our members to support a good cause and at the same
time to wish good luck to a dear friend of IWC. We thank Mrs Shetty very much for
her friendship. Please look at the Vice President’s page and reserve your place.
Another important event for the end of this club year is the presentation of the song
group from Yale University, “The Yale Alley Cats” who will come from the USA to
entertain our members, families and friends. Look at the details in this Bulletin, and
have a nice time on May 20 at the Immanuel International Church!
We would also like to wish that the group travelling to Brussels to visit our sister club
there have a wonderful time. Please convey to our Belgian friends our best regards
from the IWC in Stockholm.
As we have already announced, May 11 is the date of our Annual General Meeting. It
is very important that as many club members attend as possible. We have many very
important matters to discuss and decide. Do not miss this meeting because if we do
not reach a quorum of 50 members, the AGM cannot take place. Please come,
take part in the AGM and make your voice heard. You are very important.
At the end of this club year and my last one as president, I would like to send my
sincere thanks to all of you, members and guests who make our club a very nice place
to meet new and old friends.
I wish you a lovely, relaxing and safe summer, wherever you are going to spend it.
Take care!
With warmest regards,
Marilda
