Annual Report - Club Year 2005/2006
This 2005-2006 Club season
we worked diligently to offer our New Comer Coffees and Teas. We also
continued a new event for our members and new comers called Coffee Talk
! where members enjoy each other’s company in a private home and listen
to a stimulating talk. We discovered this season that many of the newest
members in recent years are not able to attend most daytime events due
to family and work commitments. In November, Anita Wegelius Bergström
and I started The Blue Hour – a very special time between day and night
when the sky turns intensely blue – as a monthly gathering after work or
before dinner to meet friends in a casual setting for a drink of wine or
juice. This event has been well received and offers members a chance to
meet in the evening.

A very special thanks to the remarkable Hospitality Committee. A
heartfelt thanks to those committee members who gave their time, ideas
and support this season, especially Inga Rumert, Kate Wacz, Debora House
Bengtsson, Anita Wegelius Bergström, Anikó Balogh, Diane Gilbert,
Caroline Wallin, Mary Beth Connor, Kate Graham, Grace Guo and Maria
Faxander who worked on several projects. Thanks to all the ladies who
contributed to the Kate Wacz Coffee Morning Appeal to help build
permanent housing for victims of the earthquake in Pakistan. We raised
over SEK 5,500.
I joined the IWC to spend time with women from different backgrounds and
beliefs. It has been a pleasure to meet so many more of you this season.
I have been honoured to serve as the Vice President in charge of
hospitality – defined as a gracious openness to ideas and opinions. It
has been truly rewarding to uphold this Club principle through my work
with you all this season.
Respectfully submitted,
Lauren Dyer Amazeen
Vice-President
