LANGUAGE CONVERSATION GROUPS

FRENCH -Due to travelling there will be no French conversation in March.

GERMAN - We will meet on 17th of March at 12.30pm at the home of Aniko Balogh,
Hannebergsgatan 16 in Solna. Directions: T‐Bana blue line to Akalla, get off at Solna centrum then it is 5 minutes walk.

SPORT & FITNESS

WALK, TALK AND LOOK AROUND!
Friday 7th March, 10:00am
Walk around Hammaby Sjöstad—Sickla Strand and Nacka Naturreservat
with a break at “Dieselverkstaden”. Meeting Point: Hammarby Kai, bus
No. 2 or 55, take the little ferryboat “Emmilie/Lottan” (free of charge) ‐the
best welcome to Hammarby Sjöstad. From T‐Bana Gullmarsplan go on the
Tvärbana Sickla Udde to Luma and walk down to Hammarby Kai.

Friday 8th February the walking group walked from Dramaten to Djurgården.
The group enjoyed the nice day. They met Birgitte Frick‐Meijer for lunch. Birgitte ended her 10 year reign as the IWC walking group leader. The walking group will miss her smile and energy.

HOBBIES, FILMS AND GAMES

BRIDGE - We meet on Mondays between 10.45am and 3.00pm with a break for
lunch at 12:30. We play in the Torben Grut Salen Hall in the North tower of Stadion. This tournament is open to husbands, partners and friends. If you wish to attend please let us know at least one week in advance.
Contribution: 80SEK.
Directions: T‐Bana red line, stop Tekniska Högskolan; Busses 4, 72 and 73 stop
Stadion.

ITEMS OF INTEREST:

2nd - 8th March - Kom & Hör (Come and Listen)
A festival for contemporary chamber music. One hundred musicians/artists will present an energetic and richly varied programme. Students from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm are producing the Kom & Hör Festival, which has become a recurrent event on Stockholm´s music scene.

The opening day will start with a café concert at 6pm on Sunday March 2nd in Ljusgården, followed by a concert at 8pm in the main hall when college students
will perform live in a radio broadcast to millions of listeners in Europe. The final
concert will be at 7pm on Sunday 8th March.

Price: Free!

13th - 16th March: Stockholm International Antique Fair, public fair
The Stockholm International Antique Fair is the top Nordic fair for antiques, art,
furnishings and design.

Easter celebrations at Skansen Open Air Museum

The houses and farms will be decorated to celebrate Easter, and a large Easter
market will be held on the square Bollnästorget. Also lots of fun activities for
children, especially on Maundy Thursday (the Thursday before Easter) when
children dress up as witches to deliver Easter letters and receive candy. This is a
part of an old Swedish tradidtion.
